Titre : Production frontiers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Rolf Färe, Auteur ; Shawna Grosskopf, Auteur Editeur : Cambridge : Cambridge University Press Année de publication : 1994 Importance : xv, 296 p. Présentation : ill. Format : 24 cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-521-42033-4 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 338.01 Facteurs de la production Résumé : Quatrième de couverture : This book presents a mathematical programming approach to the analysis of production frontiers and efficiency measurement. The authors construct a variety of production frontiers, and by measuring distances to them are able to develop a model of efficient producer behaviour and a taxonomy of possible types of departure from efficiency in various environments. Linear programming is used as an analytical and computational technique in order to accomplish this. The approach developed is then applied to modelling producer behaviour. By focusing on the empirical relevance of production frontiers and distances to them, and applying linear programming techniques to artificial data to illustrate the type of information they can generate, this book provides a unique study in applied production analysis. It will be of interest to scholars and students of economics and operations research, and analysts in business and government. Note de contenu : 1. Introduction
2. Production technology
3. Input-based efficiency measurement
4. Output-based efficiency measurement
5. Indirect input-based efficiency measurement
6. Indirect output-based efficiency measurement
7. The measurement of price efficiency
8. Graph efficiency measurement
9. Efficiency measurement and productivity measurement
10. Topics in efficiency measurement.Production frontiers [texte imprimé] / Rolf Färe, Auteur ; Shawna Grosskopf, Auteur . - Cambridge : Cambridge University Press, 1994 . - xv, 296 p. : ill. ; 24 cm.

Get complete instructions for manipulating, processing, cleaning, and crunching datasets in Python. Updated for Python 3.6, the second edition of this hands-on guide is packed with practical case studies that show you how to solve a broad set of data analysis problems effectively. You’ll learn the latest versions of pandas, NumPy, IPython, and Jupyter in the process.
Written by Wes McKinney, the creator of the Python pandas project, this book is a practical, modern introduction to data science tools in Python. It’s ideal for analysts new to Python and for Python programmers new to data science and scientific computing. Data files and related material are available on GitHub.
Use the IPython shell and Jupyter notebook for exploratory computing
Learn basic and advanced features in NumPy (Numerical Python)
Get started with data analysis tools in the pandas library
Use flexible tools to load, clean, transform, merge, and reshape data
Create informative visualizations with matplotlib
Apply the pandas groupby facility to slice, dice, and summarize datasets
Analyze and manipulate regular and irregular time series data
Learn how to solve real-world data analysis problems with thorough, detailed examples "
